Simona Halep agrees for Palermo
Wimbledon champion Simona Halep will start at the first WTA tournament after the Corona break - in Palermo, starting on August 3rd.

Halep announced their launch via video message. "Hello everyone, I am very happy to announce that I will be back in Palermo after ten years. I hope it will be a great week."
The WTA International tournament in Italy is the first official tournament since March.
In 2019, it had made a comeback in the WTA calendar after five years of abstinence, the defending champion is the Swiss Jil Teichmann.
"Halep's participation means exciting news. It's been several decades since a former number 1 player in the world played in Palermo," said tournament director Oliviero Palma.
Camila Giorgi is the top-ranked local, and you should reserve a place if a top ten player wants to serve in Palermo.
