What a performance by Iga Swiatek! The two-time winner of Roland Garros, who had major problems during the US Open, especially against Jule Niemeier and in the semifinals against Aryna Sabalenka, also had to tremble against Ons Jabeur in the end. But won 6:2 and 7:6 (5). For Jabeur, after losing to Elena Rybakina in Wimbledon, it was the second final defeat in a Grand Slam tournament in a row. The Tunisian will still return to number two on the WTA charts. Swiatek confidently leads the world rankings.

Swiatek took a 3-0 lead in the first set, and a short sprint brought Jabeur up to 2-3. After that, the favorite took command again and brought the first round to her side after almost half an hour. Exactly the same picture in the second act: Swiatek managed a quick break again, again it was 3-0. And indeed, Jabeur managed to shorten the lead to 2:3 with a re-break.

It didn't surprise anyone in the packed Arthur Ashe Stadium that Iga Swiatek immediately added a break to make it 4-2. And that despite the fact that Jabeur offered the whole range of their shots. But then Jabeur rewrote the script, came close to 3: 4 with her third chance and equalized with her own service. Swiatek made an impact, while Jabeur suddenly saw a chance for a big comeback.

The ninth game in the second set took more than eight minutes, and Swiatek won it after defending against three break points. A few moments later, at 15:30, the Pole was only two points away from winning the match - Jabeur kept his nerve. A service game later it was again 0:30 from Ons Jabeur's point of view, Swiatek helped out with two simple mistakes. After exactly 101 minutes of play, Swiatek got the first match ball, but she put a backhand wide. A tiebreak had to make the decision.

The quick decision started with four mini-breaks before Swiatek took a 3-2 lead. At 4:2, after the next mini-break, the sides were switched. Jabeur won the next three points, helped by Swiatek's mistakes. Which in turn scored both points on Jabeur's serve. For the second match point. And this time he was seated.
