US Open qualification: Eva Lys sovereign in the final, Laura Siegemund already in the main draw

Top performance by Eva Lys (WTA No. 145): The German Fed Cup starter is in the qualifying final after a confident 6: 3, 6: 1 win over the Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (WTA No. 123). of this year's US Open. The 21-year-old only had to fight for victory for 73 minutes, a practically flawless performance made it possible to win against number 22 in the prelim seeding list. In the duel for a main draw ticket, Lys, who was born in Kiev, now has to deal with either local hero McCartney Kessler (WTA No. 363).

Laura Siegemund (WTA No. 108) has already made it into the main draw. The tenth seed won against Oceane Dodin (WTA No. 118) from France 1:6, 6:0 and 6:3.

After Tatjana Maria, Anna-Lena Friedsam and Tamara Korpatsch, Siegemund is the fourth player from the DTB squad to be in the main draw - Lys could follow suit on Saturday.
