WTA Adelaide: Ashleigh Barty and Aryna Sabalenka fight for the final
At the WTA tournament in Adelaide, the two semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday to Friday. The number one in the world, “Ash” Barty , and number twelve, Aryna Sabalenka , are the big favorites for the finals.

"Ash" Barty is getting into shape slowly. After the tremor win against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in round one , 23-year-old Marketa Vondrousova swept 6: 3 6: 3 in the quarterfinals . In the final round, Danielle Collins is now a surprise lady who has clearly defeated two top players in the course of the tournament so far, with Sofia Kenin and Belinda Bencic. In head to head, the world number one is 2: 0 in front, most recently she was able to defeat Collins in two sets on her way to the French Open title.
In the second semi-final, Aryna Sabalenka meets Dayana Yastremska. Previously, Sabalenka beat number two of the tournament, Simona Halep, in two sets in the quarterfinals. Yastremska, on the other hand, benefited from an Angie Kerber task in set two in the round of 16 , and the Ukrainian Donna Vekic from the tournament in the quarter-finals. In a direct duel, the only 19-year-old Yastremska leads 2-0. The last meeting was in Strasbourg.
For the remaining players in Adelaide, the point now is to travel to Melbourne with a good result. For Sabalenka, a win in Adelaide would of course be very special, as the 21-year-old recently announced that her father had suddenly died in November at the age of 43.The best chances for the first Grand Slam of the year can be calculated by the semi-finalists Ashleigh Barty - a victory in Adelaide would be the perfect preparation for her project home win after the first round at the opening tournament in Brisbane.
