Specifically, the first round of the 163,103 euro WTA international tournament is coming up. That last had to accept some cancellations, including that of Wimbledon winner Simona Halep . Nevertheless, there are three top 20 players in the main field, led by Petra Martic - the Croatian will face Belgian Alison van Uytvanck at the start. The last long injured French Open finalist from 2019, Marketa Vondrouova, is number 2 of the tournament.

Donna Vekic and Laura Siegemund, however, have the honor of reopening tennis, both of whom can play at 4 p.m. Vekic on center court against Arantxa Rus, Siegemund on court 6 against Irina-Camelia Begu.

According to Vekic, local hero Sara Errani is also starting via wildcard, who is currently only ranked 169th after a doping ban and massive problems with the serve . She is perhaps one of the players where it could be most exciting to see how much the Corona break could have changed the latter problems. Opponent of the French Open finalist from 2012 is Sorana Cirstea.

Daria Kasatkina, Maria Sakkari, Kristina Mladenovic and Dayana Yastremska are also in action on Monday.
