Iga Swiatek is in the final in Rome

Iga Swiatek 's winning streak is gradually becoming uncanny: The Pole celebrated her 27th victory en suite in the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome and thus ended Serena Williams' run of success in the 2014/15 period. In the semifinals of the clay court classic, Swiatek easily beat the world number one Aryna Sabalenka 6:2 and 6:1.

Swiatek never let Sabalenka find her game in the Foro Italico and again showed a sensational performance. After just 79 minutes of play, the 20-year-old converted her third match point. Due to the smooth success, Swiatek remained in Rome without losing a set.

In the final, the world number one will face Daria Kasatkina or Ons Jabeur. While Swiatek leads 3-1 in a direct comparison with Kasatkina, she lost two of the previous three duels against Jabeur.
