At the WTA tournament in Italy, Gauff won the final 6: 1, 6: 3 over Qiang Wang and won her second title after winning in Linz in 2019. And not only that: The 17-year-old then also won doubles with girlfriend Cathy McNally - Maria Sharapova last achieved a double strike at such a young age in 2004 in Birmingham.

For the American, the journey to the top continues: Gauff has made up five places in the current world rankings and is now 25th, higher than ever before. In doubles, she ranks 41st.

Little has changed at the top: Ashleigh Barty is leading in front of Naomi Osaka and Simona Halep.

It's also going up for Belgrade winner Paula Badosa , she is now the new number 34, also a career high.

Angelique Kerber continues to be the best German

The Colombian Maria Camila Osorio Serrano, who is currently playing the tennis of her life, cracked the Top 100 for the first time: She reached the semi-finals in Belgrade, and in April she won the tournament in Bogota - in her fourth main draw.

The best German player is still Angelique Kerber in 27th place, ahead of Laura Siegemund in 54th place - no other German players are currently in the top 100.

In Austria, Barbara Haas is still number 1, she ranks 156, ahead of Julia Grabher 194.
