The LAYJET OPEN is a 125 tournament and therefore a challenger event of the highest category. With prize money of 145,000 euros, the tennis highlight in the East Styrian spa and volcanic region has become the third largest tournament in Austria after the Erste Bank Open in Vienna and the Generali Open in Kitzbühel. The winner receives 125 ATP points for the world rankings. 32 players will compete in singles, 16 pairs in doubles, and 24 players will take up the racquet in the qualification for singles.

The Styrian tennis ace Sebastian Ofner has fond memories of Bad Waltersdorf. “Playing a tournament at home in Styria is of course something very special. The level on the Challenger Tour has risen dramatically in recent years, so visitors can look forward to some really good tennis. I'll try to pick up where I left off in 2016 next year," says Ofner.
