ATP Hamburg: Marterer fifth German in the main field on Rothenbaum

Maximilian Marterer is the fifth German tennis professional in the main field of the Hamburg European Open starting on Monday at Rothenbaum. The Nürnberger prevailed on Sunday in the last qualifying round against the Italian Alessandro Giannessi with 3: 6, 6: 3 and 7: 5.

Jan-Lennard Struff from Warstein and Dominik Koepfer (Furtwangen) are qualified via the world rankings for the traditional event, which is endowed with 1,168,220 euros. Philipp Kohlschreiber from Augsburg and Daniel Altmaier from Kempen were given a wildcard. Top seed in the Hanseatic city of the French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece, who failed in the first round at Wimbledon.
