ATP Marrakech: Ofner misses match point, loses thriller

The few spectators who attended the fourth singles match in Marrakech on Thursday were rewarded with a real thriller. Unfortunately, from an Austrian perspective, it ended with a defeat for Sebastian Ofner. The Styrian lost to Aleksandar Vukic in a dramatic final with 6:7 (11), 6:2 and 6:7 (7).
The end of the third set was particularly tough. First, Ofner missed opportunities for a potentially decisive break at 4:3, and then he lost his serve to make it 4:5. But Vukic was unable to serve out. And in the eleventh game he again missed opportunities for a break.
In the tiebreak, the Australian was leading 6:4. Ofner fended off the first two match points, but then had one himself at 7:6. A few moments later and after a playing time of 2 hours 47 minutes, Vukic was able to celebrate.
