Jannik Sinner won the title at the Miami Open at the third attempt

Good for Jannik Sinner, a shame for Grigor Dimitrov and the large final audience at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami. The Italian won the title at the second US Sunshine Double tournament with a very clear 6:3, 6:1 win over the Bulgarian. For Sinner, all good things came in threes. In two previous finals in the state of Florida, he lost out to both Hubert Hurkacz and Daniil Medvedev.

"I'm very proud of the result," said Sinner: "I'm trying to improve and enjoy the moment. This is a special moment, you never know if it's the last."

Two easy passes for Sinner

Against the 32-year-old Dimitrov, who defeated Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, Sinner once again showed an extremely strong performance. In the fifth game, the 22-year-old got the first break and won the first set 6-3 with a precise longline shot with his backhand. In the second round, the South Tyrolean rushed from game to game and won the game with the first match point after just 1:14 hours.

Sinner only dropped a set in the third round of the tournament against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor and has an outstanding record of 22 wins and one loss this year. Sinner conceded this in the semi-finals in Indian Wells against the eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz.

Here is the individual tableau in Miami.
