In the semifinals on Tuesday, Bautista Agut meets the Italian top 10 player Matteo Berrettini at the dog's throat in Grunewald.

Struff showed fighter qualities after losing the first set and equalized on sets thanks to his good first serve. The match-tiebreak also remained contested before Bautista Agut won 10-7. The second semifinals on Tuesday (live on ServusTV and Eurosport) will be dominated by world number three Dominic Thiem from Austria and the winner of the game Tommy Haas against Jannik Sinner (Italy).

"The match was at a decent level. Of course it's a shame that I lost," said Struff: "These games after the long break are extremely important because you see where you stand and how strong you are." Struff had beaten Bautista Agut this year at the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Dubai, the three remaining games had gone to the Spaniard. Both players were already in action together last week: at Dominic Thiem's invitation tournament in Kitzbühel.
