Father joys at Marin Cilic: "Are now a team of three"

Marin Cilic had imagined the start of 2020 a little differently in terms of sport. At the first edition of the ATP Cup, the 31-year-old had already failed with his Croatians in the preliminary round , although the matches against Austria and Poland could be won. Things went much better for Marin Cilic at the Australian Open. The Croatian was able to beat Roberto Bautista Agut in five sets in lap three, but in the round of 16 it was the final stop against the service giant Milos Raonic.
Now there is good news from the 31-year-old's life as a prival. The Croatian announced on Sunday that he had become a father for the first time. Together with Kristina Milković - who the Croat married in 2018 - it is the first child for Marin Cilic. Meanwhile, wife and child are doing well, Cilic said on Instagram: "Mom and" Baby-Boy "are doing extremely well. It looks as if this decade will be the best so far."
Cilic, on the other hand, achieved his greatest sporting success in the past decade. The tall Croatian has earned 18 titles over the years - he clearly made his biggest coup in 2014 when he won the US Open with a final win over Kei Nishikori. After his best career placement in 2018 - the Croatian was able to advance to third place in the world rankings - suddenly little went to the one-time Grand Slam champion. Two round of 16 at Australian and US Open were the highest of feelings for Marin Cilic in 2019. With great private news behind it, things can only go uphill for Cilic 2020.
