Premiere victory at the ATP Challenger tournament in Hamburg: The Swiss Alexander Ritschard, currently in position 216 in the ATP ranking, got his first tournament victory at Challenger level at the 80s hard court event in the northern German Hanseatic city, which was endowed with 45,370 euros . In his view, his compatriot Henri Laaksonen gave up when the score was 5:7, 5:6.

Ritschard had reached the final of the Challenger tournament in Forli, Italy, in February of this year, but lost there against Jack Draper from Britain in three close rounds. With the 80 world ranking points, Ritschard will climb 50 places in the ranking and take position 166 from Monday - five places ahead of his opponent in the final, Laaksonen.

Here the single tableau from Hamburg.
