ATP Dubai: Humbert is in the semi-finals! Hurkacz misses three match points
Surprise in the quarterfinals at the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Dubai! Ugo Humbert wins after a three-set thriller against third seed Hurkackz 3:6 7:6 (10:8) and 6:3.

The semi-finals of the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Dubai have been announced. Ugo Humbert will face the defending champion and number one seed Daniil Medvedev in tomorrow's match . The 25-year-old Frenchman lost to the favorite Hurkazc in the first set, but fought back and was able to win the match after three set points for Hurkacz.
At the beginning of the first set, both players quickly played their serves. With the score 2-1 for Hurkacz, he earned the first break of the match after a long debut. The world number eight took the lead 3:1 and converted his second set point at 40:15 and 5:3. Hurkacz clearly dominated the first set and gave his French opponent hardly any chances.
Humbert kept his nerve and turned the match around
The second set extended over longer rallies and included more used and unused break chances. Humbert played at a significantly higher level and took advantage of the Pole's lack of concentration. The top players met again in the tiebreak. Hurkacz missed three match points. Humbert, on the other hand, converted his first set point at 9:8. The Frenchman won the close second set 10:8 in the tiebreak and took the match into the third set.
The third set was just as close as the second, with world number 18 Ugo Humbert retaining the upper hand. He didn't let the victory be taken away from him and closed the match 6:3 in the last set. Hubert can now look forward to Daniil Medvedev, fourth in the world rankings. The semi-finals of the two tennis stars will take place tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. CET.
