Who's starting in Cincinnati?
After all, a few more top stars than in Toronto: Daniil Medvedev , Stefanos Tsitsipas , Alexander Zverev (after his break), Andrey Rublev , Matteo Berrettini and Denis Shapovalov have registered from the top ten.
Not there, however, are Novak Djokovic (recovery), Rafael Nadal (foot problems), Dominic Thiem (rehab after wrist injury) and Roger Federer (knee problems again).
Who is the defending champion?
Novak Djokovic. The world number one defeated Milos Raonic in the final in 2020 and celebrated his second victory in Cincinnati after 2018. Djokovic had previously lost five times in the final.
