Roger Federer was looking for a new home - and apparently found what he was looking for in Rapperswil-Jona, right on Lake Zurich.

Federer apparently secured the last large plot of land with a direct seafront in the Kempratner Bay, writes the Zürichsee-Zeitung .

According to the experts' estimate, the property is 16,000 square meters, valued at CHF 40 to 50 million. Even though the client is officially the responsibility of the Otto Rühle community of heirs, it is an open secret that Federer is behind it, it is said. /

Federer moved his civil law residence to Valbella in 2015 and sold his 1200 square meter property in Wollerau the previous year.

From the construction plans it can be seen that a tennis court is to be built outdoors as well as an in-house sports infrastructure.

Neighbors are looking forward to the Federer family

Federer seems to be welcome in his soon to be new surroundings. "It definitely won't make much noise," a future neighbor of the 20-time major winner is quoted on blick.ch . SVP National Councilor Barbara Keller-Inhelder says: "I saw the plans. The project thrills me enormously! It couldn't be nicer. The lake view is preserved."

A physiotherapist across the property is also enthusiastic. "He is a real champ. It is a moderate project and not a profitable project, I think that is good. And it is much more likeable than if, for example, a Russian oligarch would build a castle."

The location would also have a lot of charm for Federers Kids, because a children's zoo is only 100 meters away. "It would be great if Federer lived just around the corner. But Federer often comes to us with his four children. Also with friends," says director Benjamin Sinniger. "He is completely relaxed, loves our new Asian restaurant. The Asians freak out completely, the Swiss are more reserved. Federer takes time for photos with everyone, including the staff and the kitchen team."

There are many superstars who are arrogant, but not Federer. "He doesn't call and says: I want a special parking lot or security. Also no free admission. Mirka Federer pays at the checkout like everyone else."
