Canada started the start of the year with a stutter, but in the end they won the final over Spain .

And for Felix Auger-Aliassime in particular, it also has a great influence on the world rankings: As of today, it is listed in 9th place in the ATP ranking for the first time, higher than ever before. He cracked the top ten for the first time in November. And of course: That doesn't have to be the end of the flagpole for Toni Nadal's protégé.

Novak Djokovic remains number 1 /

At the top of the ATP ranking everything stays the same: Novak Djokovic as number 1 ahead of Daniil Medvedev , Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas . Rafael Nadal remains number 6 despite his tournament victory in Melbourne . His final opponent Maxime Cressy, on the other hand, is among the top 100 in the world for the first time, specifically in 75th place.

Cressy had played a number of Challenger tournaments within reach at the end of last year, so now the reward for the serve and volley specialist. Oscar Otte also cracked the Top 100 for the first time - with 100th place.

Dominic Thiem has lost four places and is in 19th place.

Amanda Anisimova with jump

There was little movement among the women. Adelaide winner Ashleigh Barty of course remains number 1 ahead of Aryna Sabalenka and Garbine Muguruza . The long injured Simona Halep has made up five places with her tournament victory in Melbourne and is in 15th place.

Amanda Anisimova has also made a nice leap: She was once already in 21st place in the WTA ranking, before injuries and private problems were set back. With her victory at the second Melbourne tournament, she has returned to 60th place.

The best German player remains Angelique Kerber in 17th place. Kerber recently announced that he had suffered from Corona. However, she wants to serve again at the Australian Open.
