ATP: Jan-Lennard Struff celebrates opening victory at the "Cincinnati" tournament
Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP No. 34) has successfully started the resumption of the ATP tour. The 30-year-old won against the Australian Alex de Minaur (ATP No. 26) 6: 2, 6: 4.

"Struffi" needed 1 hour and 21 to make the second round entry at the Western & Southern Open perfectly. Struff now has to deal with the winner of the game between Denis Shapovalov and Marin Cilic.
Struff managed to break right at the beginning, until the middle of the second round he didn't allow anything with his own serve. At 3: 3 there was a preliminary decision when Stuff made the break only break in set two - and transported it to victory.

Dress rehearsal for the US Open
The Western & Southern Open - actually based in Cincinnati - will be held this year in New York, on the facility of the US Open. These start on August 31st.
The players have been in a bubble since their arrival, commuting exclusively between their hotel and the facility. Spectators are not allowed in this year.
However, there is only a limited field at play, both at the Western & Southern Open and the US Open. Rafael Nadal canceled his start. Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, is there and top placed.
Six of the top ten players are missing for the women. Angelique Kerber had confirmed her participation in the US Open in the morning , but she is not yet at the start of the current tournament.
